  {Needing some Prayer}

Hey Everyone!

First off, I want you to watch this music video. This song has CHANGED my life. I used to pray for myself and my family and our prosperity, but now, in my time of need, God has put it on my heart that when I care for others, they reach their hands out to me. Once you have watched it...THEN read the message below! :)

So this weekend I went to San Antonio for a conference. I wish I could tell you it was an awesome conference full of amazing bloggers and I got to learn all kinds of great crafty stuff...but that's not the case!

I went to an amazing seminar, don't get me wrong. And I learned some really great "projects", but I wasn't there because I really wanted to, I was there because I NEEDED to be! I went to go see Dave Ramsey. I have messed up BIG time when it comes to money. And to be candid....I am bringing in WAY less a month than what the bills add up to! I try as hard as I can to live on a very strict budget, we have taken out things that we don't need. I don't go shopping anymore, we cut our food budget...if you haven't noticed, there haven't been any craft projects on this blog in a while. I just simply can't afford it. BUT....it's not the death of the blog...OH NO! It is the start to something entirely new.

I have decided to go back and get another full time job, so I am hitting the pavement full on this week. I will be learning to balance this blog, a new job, plus my graphic design! It should be a whole new adventure! Hence the merge of Gourmet Momma with PDB.

And to tell you the truth, I am really excited! I am pumped about getting to go back to work. (well...I have a FEW hesitations, but not many!)

But the best part about it is, I am getting out of debt so I can give Lagan a brighter future. Because as it stands now, she doesn't have one. She wont be able to go to college, she wont be able to get a car when she is 16, etc. I want her to do those things and not pay for it, literally, for the rest of her life!

So here is where I am asking you all for your help. Please pray that God will direct me and use me in a way that will impact my life and the lives of those around me in a positive way. That I be put in a position that I really like so I have good work ethic and that I am able to get out of this HUGE cloud of debt I have hovering over me.
And also, please pray for everyone out there that is job seeking in this terrible economy.

However, I am not worried about the economy or a bad job market, or a slow hiring process. People that say it doesn't look good.....They don't know MY GOD!!! :)

I love you all and thank you SOOO much for your prayers!

Good luck on the job hunt!

And if you have already, look into Upromise for Lagan. That's a great way to earn money for college.

You are in my thoughts and all I can say is.
Go get it girl!
You sound like nothing is going to stop you.
One thing I have learnt is you can't stop a determined mother.

Thank you for being so honest. We were where you are a few years ago before we took the Financial Peace University. It change our lives. We no longer fight about money (DH being the spender and I the saver) and we actually have money in savings. Praise the LORD! I know that you will find a great amount of success in change your life because your attitude has already changed toward spending and money. I'm praying for your job hunt!

Since we're talking about not spending money, doncha need something for free? Come over and leave a comment on my give away post! :)

Nikki, sweet girl! I enjoy your blog so very much. And you are such an inspiration to this "old lady".

I am doing Financial Peace at church with my kids, and we are loving it. I wanted to go to the Ramsey thing but it "wasn't in the budget". lol Kind of ironic.

If you can do the 13 week course, I highly recommend it. If cost is an issue (it was with me, but I got help from my ex to pay for it), please see if there is some type of "scholarship" available.

It has truly been life-changing, not only for me but my kids as well (they are teenagers). It has given them information that will prove to be life-saving financially speaking. And their mindset on spending and saving has completely turned around!!! In less than a month!!! Cool, huh?

One thing for sure...FOLLOW THE STEPS, IN ORDER!!! Don't try to do it your way right now. That hasn't worked before, right? ;-) Do it Dave's way for a while. It gets frustrating and sometimes outright scary, but you will see changes and they are amazing. Rely fully on God, and then do your part!

I'm so proud of you. You have an amazing future and so does Lagan! I'm praying for you both, honey!

I am praying for you. Know you aren't the only one out there in this situation. My husband and I are lucky enough to have no debt except for our house, but we would love to pay that off in 15 years instead of the 30 year term. We are all tightening our purse strings and really seeing where all our money goes. We've been scared a couple times that my husband might lose his job, which would really set us back, but I just keep hoping and trusting in God. I know he is there for me (and you) and anyone else who wants him. Pray, trust, and have complete faith. He will see you through.

Blessings your way,

Nikki,
We are starting on Dave Ramsey this month and I'm excited.

I don't let "the economy" stop me anymore either. We have suffered when the economy was "good" and prospered when it was "poor". So we figured out God doesn't really care about the Dow Jones average. He cares about His people!

I'm excited to see what the future holds for you!

Good for you!! Taking control of the situation-that's awesome.

And you're right, God is WAY bigger than this terrible economy. My husband has been out of a regular job since last July and I have just been so amazed by the faithfulness of God. It's just incredible!

We did Financial Peace University over the summer and it was life changing for us. Follow the steps exactly as Dave lays them out and you will be surprised at how everything falls into place. We will be praying earnestly for you to have wisdom in choosing a job and adjusting to going back to work.

Luke 1:37 says "For nothing will be impossible with God."

If I may be so bold as to offer you some wisdom that comes from overcoming some serious financial issues . . . Make sure that you are tithing. When you give your tithe, God redeems the other 90% and He rebukes the devourer. Your money will go a much longer way and you won't even understand how it is happening. Read Malachi 3:8-12. God says to test Him and I can tell you from experience that He always keeps His promises.

God Bless,
Kristi

I know God has the perfect job out there for you. He has watched over our family more times than I can even count, He will not let us down now! Don't stress too much, I know that's easier said than done but just remember all those other times you were freaking out & they worked out for the best. God is holding your hand & will never let go! I am so proud of you for doing what is right & what is best for Lagan. You are teaching her a huge lesson on responsibility that will impact her life forever. You know we are praying for you ;) Love, your big sis
