  {Its FINALLY HERE! The Big Reveal!}

That's right! Its finally here! The big reveal of the...

BIRDCAGE!!!

I am so excited that I finally did something with this cage! I loved every one's ideas, and took several of them and meshed it all together.

So here is the before to refresh your memory:

and here it is in its new home by the stairs:

now, I know that picture doesn't show much, so here is a little process of how it got where it is.

I decided not to spray paint it because in person its this beautiful rusty brown with great accents, so I didn't want to take away that charm. So I bought this UGLY birds nest on a fake limb with terrible spring greenery at Joanns for $2.99 on 75% off sale.

I then removed all of the greenery and junk leaving just the nest and eggs with some twigs under it. I laid that on top of a bag of Spanish moss that I also got at Joanns. It was $1.99, but I used a 40% off coupon, making it $1.19. And remember this guy?

Well, he's all white now! I got him at the $1 store and spray painted him when I did my Rooster.

So put it all together and this is what you get!

So, what do you think? I L-O-V-E it!!
I hope you all have a great weekend! And don't forget to stop by Monday, I have another project in my "decorating for fall" line up! :)

Hi Nikki,
I love it! Funny thing is I bought the same bird nest at JoAnn's but it was sitting on a greenish yellow clay pot. I pulled the nest off and took all the greenery off. I used the pot for a topiary I made and used the nest and eggs like you for decorations-
Your's turned out so perfect!

Thanks for stopping by my blog. I love what you did with the bird cage. I am leary of doing anything like this because my 3 boys will think thay should free the bird and hatch the eggs. It just wouldn't stay pretty.

yeah, so I can water some veggies that grow on their own- but You- You can take something ugly and make it pretty! And then arrange it so nicely in a cool birdcage! That is a talent for sure!!

Ok, that is just too cute!
Why do I always forget that a little spray paint can de-uglisize stuff?

We just bought a condo and will move in three weeks from now. Time to toss the tired and hit the thrift store for new decor. (Banging head on computer cabinet)Must-remember-spray-paint. I'll be back here often for more inspiration.

Definately love the cage. Unfortunatly for me, I never see the "nest and twiggs" for all the florescent green and yellow blaring at me;) I guess I should start lookin more closely.

What a great bird cage. I can also picture it on the front porch in the summer with a big fern in it. So many ways to use it.

WOW! It turned out great! I like the rusty finish on the cage too. I wouldn't have painted it either. Shocking, I know.

I bought that same nest from Joanne. I ripped it right off the fake stick and had it in a lantern for a while. Love your little birdie too!
